Usayd bin Hudhayr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: He said, "O Messenger of Allah! Last night I was reciting Surah Al-Baqarah. During this, I heard a sound behind me and thought perhaps my horse had run away." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "O Abu Usayd! Continue reciting." I paid attention and saw some lights that were present between the sky and the earth. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "O Abu ‘Atiq! You are reciting." I said, "O Messenger of Allah! Now I cannot continue reciting." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "These were angels who descended because of the recitation of Surah Al-Baqarah. If you had continued reciting, you would have seen even more astonishing things."
