أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بِبُسْتَ ، وَعُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ قَحْطَبَةَ ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ قَزَعَةَ الْبَصْرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَوَاءٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اسْتَذْكِرُوا الْقُرْآنَ ، فَلَهُوَ أَشَدُّ تَفَصِّيًا مِنْ صُدُورِ الرِّجَالِ مِنَ النَّعَمِ مِنْ عُقُلِهَا ، وَبِئْسَمَا لأَحَدِكُمْ أَنْ يَقُولَ : نَسِيتُ آيَةَ كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ ، بَلْ هُوَ نُسِّيَ " . قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : فِي هَذَا الْخَبَرِ دَلِيلٌ عَلَى أَنَّ الاسْتِطَاعَةَ مَعَ الْفِعْلِ لا قَبْلَهُ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Keep remembering the Qur'an, for it slips away from the breast of a man faster than a camel escapes from its rope. And it is very bad for a person to say, 'I have forgotten such and such verse,' rather, it has been made to be forgotten by him."
