Hadith 7490

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " عُرِضَتْ عَلَيَّ النَّارُ ، فَرَأَيْتُ فِيهَا عَمْرَو بْنَ لُحَيِّ بْنِ قَمَعَةَ بْنِ خِنْدِفٍ يَجُرُّ قُصْبَهُ فِي النَّارِ ، وَكَانَ أَوَّلَ مَنْ غَيَّرَ عَهْدَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، وَسَيَّبَ السَّوَائِبَ ، وَكَانَ أَشْبَهَ شَيْءٍ بِأَكْثَمَ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَوْنِ الْخُزَاعِيِّ " ، فَقَالَ الأَكْثَمُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، هَلْ يَضُرُّنِي شَبَهُهُ ؟ فَقَالَ : " إِنَّكَ مُسْلِمٌ وَهُوَ كَافِرٌ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Hell was presented before me and I saw ‘Amr bin Luhayy in it, dragging his intestines. He was the first person who changed the religion of Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him). He was the one who started dedicating animals in the names of idols. He resembled Aktham bin Abu Jun Khuzai. Aktham said: O Messenger of Allah! Will resembling him harm me? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You are a Muslim and he is a disbeliever."
