Hadith 7489

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا شريكٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَإِذَا أَكْثَرُ أَهْلِهَا الْفُقَرَاءُ ، وَاطَّلَعْتُ فِي النَّارِ فَإِذَا أَكْثَرُ أَهْلِهَا النِّسَاءُ ، وَرَأَيْتُ فِيهَا ثَلاثَةً يُعَذَّبُونَ : امْرَأَةً مِنْ حِمْيَرَ طُوَالَةً رَبَطَتْ هِرَّةً لَهَا لَمْ تُطْعِمْهَا ، وَلَمْ تَسْقِهَا ، وَلَمْ تَدَعْهَا تَأْكُلُ مِنْ خَشَاشِ الأَرْضِ ، فَهِيَ تَنْهَشُ قُبُلَهَا وَدُبُرَهَا ، وَرَأَيْتُ فِيهَا أَخَا بَنِي دَعْدَعٍ الَّذِي كَانَ يَسْرِقُ الْحَاجَّ بِمِحْجَنِهِ فَإِذَا فُطِنَ لَهُ ، قَالَ : إِنَّمَا تَعَلَّقَ بِمِحْجَنِي ، وَالَّذِي سَرَقَ بَدَنَتَيْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "I entered Paradise and saw that the majority of its inhabitants were the poor. I looked into Hell and saw that the majority of its inhabitants were women. I saw three people there who were being punished: one was a tall woman from the tribe of Himyar who had tied up a cat and neither gave it anything to eat nor to drink, nor did she let it go so that it could eat on its own. The cat would scratch her from the front and from the back. I saw in Hell a man from the tribe of Banu Dadda’ who used to steal the belongings of pilgrims with his stick; when he was caught, he would say, 'This thing got stuck to my stick.' And I saw the man who had stolen two sacrificial animals of the Messenger of Allah."
