Hadith 7476

أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بِبُسْتٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمِقْدَامِ الْعِجْلِيُّ ، يَقُولُ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الطُّفَاوِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " اخْتَصَمَتِ الْجَنَّةُ وَالنَّارُ ، فَقَالَتِ النَّارُ : يَدْخُلُنِي الْجَبَّارُونَ وَالْمُتَكَبِّرُونَ ، وَقَالَتِ الْجَنَّةُ : يَدْخُلُنِي ضُعَفَاءُ النَّاسِ وَأَسْقَاطُهُمْ ، فَقَالَ اللَّهُ لِلنَّارِ : أَنْتِ عَذَابِي أُصِيبُ بِكِ مَنْ أَشَاءُ ، وَقَالَ لِلْجَنَّةِ : أَنْتِ رَحْمَتِي أُصِيبُ بِكِ مَنْ أَشَاءُ ، وَلِكُلِّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْكُمَا مِلْؤُهَا " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Paradise and Hell argued with each other. Hell said: 'The tyrants and the arrogant will enter me.' Paradise said: 'The weak and ordinary people will enter me.' Allah Almighty said to Hell: 'You are My punishment; through you I will punish whom I will.' And He said to Paradise: 'You are My mercy; through you I will show mercy to whom I will.' And each of you will be filled."
