Hadith 7470

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي مَعْشَرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِ ، وَلا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلا وَأَنْتُمْ مُسْلِمُونَ ، فَلَوْ أَنَّ قَطْرَةً مِنَ الزَّقُّومِ قَطَرَتْ فِي الأَرْضِ ، لأَفْسَدَتْ عَلَى أَهْلِ الأَرْضِ مَعِيشَتَهُمْ ، فَكَيْفَ بِمَنْ لَيْسَ لَهُ طَعَامٌ غَيْرُهُ ؟ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “(Allah the Exalted says:) O you who believe! Fear Allah as He should be feared, and do not die except as Muslims.” (The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said:) “If a single drop of Zaqqum were to drip onto the earth, it would ruin the livelihood of all the inhabitants of the earth, so what will be the state of the one whose only food is this?”
