Hadith 7465

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُمَيْرٍ النَّحَّاسُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنِ الأَوْزَاعِيِّ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، قَالَ : " رُئِيَ عُبَادَةُ بْنُ الصَّامِتِ عَلَى سُوَرِ بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ الشَّرْقِيِّ يَبْكِي ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ ، فَقَالَ : مِنْ هَا هُنَا نَبَّأَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ رَأَى مَالِكًا يُقَلِّبُ جَمْرًا كَالْقُطْفِ " .
Abu Salamah bin Abdur Rahman narrates: Sayyiduna Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) stood on the eastern wall of Bayt al-Maqdis and began to weep. When he was asked about it, he said: Regarding this place, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) informed that from here he saw Malik, the (keeper) of Hell, turning over embers as if they were grape seeds.
