أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ جَنَّادٍ الْحَلَبِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي أُنَيْسَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ الأَوْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ ، يَقُولُ : خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَسْنَدَ ظَهْرَهُ إِلَى قُبَّةٍ مِنْ أَدَمٍ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " أَمَّا بَعْدُ ، أَتَرْضَوْنَ أَنْ تَكُونُوا رُبْعَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ ؟ " ، قُلْنَا : نَعَمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنِّي لأَرْجُو أَنْ تَكُونُوا نِصْفَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ ، وَإِنَّهُ لا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ إِلا كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مُسْلِمَةٍ ، وَإِنَّ مَثَلَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فِي الْكُفَّارِ فِي الْعَدَدِ كَمَثَلِ الشَّعْرَةِ الْبَيْضَاءِ فِي الثَّوْرِ الأَسْوَدِ ، أَوِ الشَّعْرَةِ السَّوْدَاءِ فِي الثَّوْرِ الأَبْيَضِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon to us while he was leaning against a tent made of leather. Then he said: "To proceed! Are you pleased that you will be one fourth of the people of Paradise?" We said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah!" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By Him in Whose Hand is my soul, I hope that you will be half of the people of Paradise, and only a Muslim will enter Paradise. On the Day of Resurrection, in comparison to the disbelievers, the number of Muslims will be like a white hair on the body of a black ox, or a black hair on the body of a white ox."
