Hadith 7452

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى بِالْمَوْصِلِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ أَحَدٌ يَسُرُّهُ أَنْ يَرْجِعَ إِلَى الدُّنْيَا ، وَلَهُ عَشَرَةُ أَمْثَالِهَا إِلا الشَّهِيدُ ، فَإِنَّهُ وَدَّ أَنَّهُ رَجَعَ إِلَى الدُّنْيَا ، فَيُقْتَلُ عَشْرَ مَرَّاتٍ لِمَا يَرَى مِنَ الْفَضْلِ " .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "None of the people of Paradise will wish to return to the world, even if he were to be given ten times the world and all that is in it. Only the martyr is different, for he will wish to return to the world and be killed ten times because of the virtue (he sees) in martyrdom."
