Saeed bin Musayyib narrates: He met Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), so Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I pray to Allah Almighty that He gathers me and you together in the market of Paradise. Saeed bin Musayyib asked: Will there be markets in Paradise? He replied: Yes! The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) told me this:
When the people of Paradise enter Paradise, they will reside in it according to their deeds. In terms of worldly days, on Fridays, they will be granted permission, so they will come to see Allah Almighty. The reflection of Allah Almighty will appear before them. Allah Almighty will manifest Himself before them in a garden of Paradise. Pulpits of light will be placed before them, and there will be pulpits of pearls, pulpits of rubies, pulpits of emeralds, pulpits of gold, and pulpits of silver. The person of the lowest rank among them, although there will be no one of low rank among them, will also be on mounds of musk and mounds of camphor. They will not think that the person sitting on a chair has more virtue in the gathering than others.
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I asked: O Messenger of Allah! Will we see our Lord? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Yes! Do you have any difficulty in seeing the sun or the full moon on the fourteenth night? We replied: No, so the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: In the same way, you will have no difficulty in seeing your Lord. In that gathering, whoever is present, Allah Almighty will speak to him directly until Allah Almighty says to one of them: O so-and-so, do you remember the day when you did such and such deed? Then Allah Almighty will remind him of some violation he committed in the world, so he will say: O Lord! Did You not forgive me? The Lord will say: Yes! Because of the vastness of My forgiveness, you have reached this position. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) says: While they are in this state, a cloud will cover them and a rain of fragrance will descend upon them. They will not have smelled such a fragrance before. Then the Lord will say: Rise towards that which I have prepared for your honor and obtain whatever you desire.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) says: Then we will come to the market, which will be covered by angels. It will be something the like of which no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no heart has imagined.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) says: There, things will be brought to us that we desire. Nothing will be sold there, and nothing will be bought. In that market, the people of Paradise will meet each other.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) says: Then a person of high rank will come and meet someone of lower rank, although there will be no one of low status among them. The person of lower rank will see the garment on the body of the higher-ranked person and will like it, and before their conversation ends, an even better garment will appear on his body. The reason for this is that no one there will be sad in any way.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) says: Then we will return to our residences. Our wives will meet us and say: Welcome, O our beloved, you have come! Now your beauty and fragrance have become even better than when you left us. They will say: Today we were in the company of our Great Lord, so we deserved to return in the state in which we have returned.
(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The wording of the narration is that of Hasan bin Sufyan.
