Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Some people asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Will we see our Lord on the Day of Resurrection?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "When there are no clouds, do you have any difficulty in seeing the sun?" The people replied, "No, O Messenger of Allah!" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "When there are no clouds, do you have any difficulty in seeing the full moon on the fourteenth night?" The people replied, "No, O Messenger of Allah!" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "In the same way, you will see your Lord on the Day of Resurrection."

Allah Almighty will gather all people on the Day of Resurrection and will say, 'Whoever used to worship something, let him follow it.' Those who used to worship the sun will follow the sun, those who used to worship the moon will follow the moon, those who used to worship idols will follow the idols, and then only this Ummah will remain, among whom will be their hypocrites. Then Allah Almighty will come to them in a form different from the one they know, and He will say, 'I am your Lord.' They will say, 'We seek refuge with Allah from you; we will stay here until our Lord comes to us. When our Lord comes to us, we will recognize Him.' The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Their Lord will come to them in the form they know, and He will say, 'I am your Lord.' They will say, 'You are our Lord.' Then a bridge will be laid over Hell.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I will be the first to cross it. On that day, all the Messengers will be saying, 'O Allah, grant safety! O Allah, grant safety!' And there will be hooks on that bridge like the thorns of the Sa'dan plant. Do you know what the thorns of Sa'dan are like?" The people replied, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah!" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "They will be like the thorns of Sa'dan, but only Allah knows their size, and they will snatch people according to their deeds. Some will be destroyed because of their deeds, and some will fall into Hell and then be saved, until Allah Almighty finishes judging between His servants and intends to bring out from Hell those who used to testify that there is no god but Allah. Allah Almighty will command the angels to bring them out, and the angels will recognize them by the marks of prostration."

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty has forbidden Hell to consume the marks of prostration on the son of Adam. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: They will bring them out while they have been burnt and turned into charcoal. Water will be poured over them, which is called the Water of Life, and they will grow like a seed grows in the silt left by a flood.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: One man among them will remain, who will come crawling on his face in Hell and will say, "O my Lord! Its stench has distressed me and its heat has burnt me. Turn my face away from Hell." He will keep supplicating, so Allah Almighty will say, "If I grant you this, will you ask for anything else?" He will say, "By Your honor, I will not ask for anything else." Allah Almighty will turn his face away from Hell. Then the man will say, "O my Lord! Bring me near the gate of Paradise." Allah Almighty will say, "Did you not say that you would not ask Me for anything else? O son of Adam, how treacherous you are!" Then the man will keep supplicating, and the Lord will say, "If I grant you this, will you ask for anything else?" He will say, "By Your honor, I will not ask for anything else." Then he will make a firm promise to Allah Almighty that he will not ask for anything else, so Allah Almighty will bring him near the gate of Paradise.

When Allah Almighty brings him near the gate of Paradise, Paradise will appear before him, and he will see the blessings therein, and he will remain silent for as long as Allah wills. Then he will say, "O my Lord! Admit me into Paradise." The Lord will say, "Did you not say that you would not ask Me for anything else? O son of Adam, how treacherous you are!" He will say, "O my Lord! Do not make me the most wretched of Your creation." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: He will keep supplicating until the Lord laughs. When the Lord laughs at him, He will permit him to enter Paradise. When he enters Paradise, it will be said to him, "Wish for whatever you desire." He will wish until all his wishes are fulfilled. The Lord will say, "You will have all this and as much again."

Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say, "You will have all this and ten times as much." Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I remember these words: You will have all this and as much again."

This is the person who will be the last to enter Paradise.
