Hadith 7383

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ أَبِي مُسْلِمٍ الْجَرْمِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مَخْلَدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ قَتَلَ مُعَاهَدًا فِي عَهْدِهِ ، لَمْ يَرَحْ رَائِحَةَ الْجَنَّةِ ، وَإِنَّ رِيحَهَا لَيُوجَدُ مِنْ مَسِيرَةِ خَمْسِ مِئَةِ عَامٍ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever kills a dhimmi (non-Muslim under Muslim protection) despite there being a covenant, will not even smell the fragrance of Paradise, even though its fragrance can be perceived from a distance of five hundred years."
