Hadith 7368

أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ مُجَاشِعٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الثَّقَفِيُّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ يَحْيَى بْنَ سَعِيدٍ الأَنْصَارِيَّ ، يَقُولُ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَعْمَرِ بْنِ حَزْمٍ ، أَنَّ وَكَانَ سَاكِنًا فِي بَنِي النَّجَّارِ نَهَارًا الْعَبْدِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ يَذْكُرُ أَنَّهُ ، سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ جَلَّ وَعَلا يَسْأَلُ الْعَبْدَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، حَتَّى إِنَّهُ لَيَقُولُ لَهُ : مَا مَنَعَكَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَ الْمُنْكَرَ أَنْ تُنْكِرَهُ ؟ فَإِذَا لَقَّنَ اللَّهُ عَبْدًا حَجَّتَهُ ، يَقُولُ : يَا رَبِّ ، وَثِقْتُ بِكَ وَفَرِقْتُ مِنَ النَّاسِ ، أَوْ فَرِقْتُ مِنَ النَّاسِ ، وَوَثِقْتُ بِكَ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: He heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: "Indeed, on the Day of Resurrection, Allah Almighty will take account from the servant, until He will say to him: When you saw a forbidden thing, what prevented you from rejecting it? So when Allah Almighty will teach the servant his argument, he will say: O Lord, I believed in You and separated myself from the people (the narrator is in doubt, perhaps these are the words:) I separated myself from the people and I believed in You."
