أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السَّامِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ الْمَقَابِرِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي حُمَيْدٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَتَى قِيَامُ السَّاعَةِ ؟ فَقَامَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى الصَّلاةِ ، فَلَمَّا قَضَى الصَّلاةَ ، قَالَ : " أَيْنَ السَّائِلُ عَنِ الْقِيَامَةِ ؟ " ، قَالَ الرَّجُلُ : أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " مَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا ؟ " ، قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا كَبِيرَ صَلاةٍ ، وَلا صَوْمٍ ، إِلا إِنِّي أُحِبُّ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْمَرْءُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ ، وَأَنْتَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ " ، فَقَالَ أَنَسٌ : مَا رَأَيْتُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَرِحُوا بِشَيْءٍ بَعْدَ الإِسْلامِ مِثْلَ فَرَحِهِمْ بِهَا .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! When will the Hour (Day of Judgment) come? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up for prayer, and when he completed the prayer, he said: Where is the person who asked about the Hour? That man replied: O Messenger of Allah, it was I. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: What preparation have you made for it? The man replied: O Messenger of Allah! I have not prepared many fasts or many prayers for it, but I love Allah and His Messenger. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A person will be with the one whom he loves, and you will be with those whom you love.
