أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْحَنْظَلِيُّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، قَالَ : تَحَدَّثْنَا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ حَتَّى أَكْرَيْنَا الْحَدِيثَ ، ثُمَّ رَجَعْنَا إِلَى مَنَازِلِنَا ، فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحْنَا غَدَوْنَا عَلَيْهِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " عُرِضَتْ عَلَيَّ اللَّيْلَةَ الأَنْبِيَاءُ وَأُمَمُهُمْ وَأَتْبَاعُهَا مِنْ أُمَمِهَا ، فَجَعَلَ النَّبِيُّ يَمُرُّ ، وَمَعَهُ الثَّلاثَةُ مِنْ أُمَّتِهِ ، وَجَعَلَ النَّبِيُّ يَمُرُّ ، وَمَعَهُ الْعِصَابَةُ مِنْ أُمَّتِهِ ، وَالنَّبِيُّ وَلَيْسَ مَعَهُ إِلا الْوَاحِدُ مِنْ أُمَّتِهِ ، وَالنَّبِيُّ لَيْسَ مَعَهُ أَحَدٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِهِ ، حَتَّى مَرَّ مُوسَى بْنُ عِمْرَانَ فِي كَبْكَبَةٍ مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ ، فَلَمَّا رَأَيْتُهُمْ أَعْجَبُونِي ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَبِّ ، مَنْ هَؤُلاءِ ؟ قَالَ : أَخُوكَ مُوسَى بْنُ عِمْرَانَ ، وَمَنْ تَبِعَهُ مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ ، قُلْتُ : يَا رَبِّ ، فَأَيْنَ أُمَّتِي ؟ قَالَ : انْظُرْ عَنْ يَمِينِكِ ، فَنَظَرْتُ ، فَإِذَا الظِّرَابُ ظِرَابُ مَكَّةَ ، قَدِ اسْوَدَّ بِوجُوهِ الرِّجَالِ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَبِّ ، مَنْ هَؤُلاءِ ؟ قَالَ : هَؤُلاءِ أُمَّتُكَ ، أَرَضِيتَ ؟ فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَبِّ ، قَدْ رَضِيتُ ، قَالَ : انْظُرْ عَنْ يَسَارِكِ ، فَنَظَرْتُ ، فَإِذَا الأُفُقُ قَدْ سُدَّ بِوجُوهِ الرِّجَالِ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَبِّ ، مَنْ هَؤُلاءِ ؟ قَالَ : هَؤُلاءِ أُمَّتُكَ ، أَرَضِيتَ ؟ فَقُلْتُ : رَبِّ رَضِيتُ ، قِيلَ : فَإِنَّ مَعَ هَؤُلاءِ سَبْعِينَ أَلْفًا بِلا حِسَابٍ " ، قَالَ : فَأَنْشَأَ عُكَّاشَةُ بْنُ مِحْصَنٍ أَحَدُ بَنِي أَسَدِ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، ادْعُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ ، قَالَ : " فَإِنَّكَ مِنْهُمْ " ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ أَنْشَأَ آخَرُ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، ادْعُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ ، قَالَ : " سَبَقَكَ بِهَا عُكَّاشَةُ بْنُ مِحْصَنٍ " .
Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him): One night we were conversing with the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) until we finished our conversation and returned to our homes. The next morning, we presented ourselves before him, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Last night, the Prophets, their nations, and the followers from their nations were presented before me. A Prophet passed by, and with him were three men from his nation. Another Prophet passed by, and with him were a few people from his nation. Another Prophet passed by, and with him was only one man from his nation. Another Prophet passed by, and there was not a single person from his nation with him. Then Musa bin Imran (peace be upon him) passed by among a large group of Bani Israel. When I saw them, I liked them. I asked: O my Lord! Who are these? Allah Almighty said: Your brother Musa bin Imran and his followers from Bani Israel. I asked: O my Lord! Where is my nation? The Lord said: Look to your right. I looked, and there was a mountain of Makkah blackened with the faces of people. I asked: O my Lord! Who are these people? The Lord said: This is your nation, are you pleased? I said: O my Lord! I am pleased. The Lord said: Look to your left. I looked in that direction, and the horizon was filled with the faces of people. I asked: O my Lord! Who are these people? The Lord said: This is your nation, are you pleased? I said: O my Lord! I am pleased. Then it was said: Along with these people, there are seventy thousand such people who will enter Paradise without any reckoning.
The narrator states: Sayyiduna ‘Ukasha bin Mihsan (may Allah be pleased with him), who belonged to Banu Asad bin Khuzaymah, stood up and said: O Messenger of Allah! Pray to Allah Almighty that He includes me among them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You are among them. Another person said: O Messenger of Allah! Pray to Allah Almighty that He includes me among them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘Ukasha has preceded you in this matter.
