Hadith 7305

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلابَةَ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " سَتَخْرُجُ عَلَيْكُمْ نَارٌ فِي آخِرِ الزَّمَانِ مِنْ حَضْرَمَوْتَ تَحْشُرُ النَّاسَ " ، قَالَ : قُلْنَا : بِمَا تَأْمُرُنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " عَلَيْكُمْ بِالشَّامِ " ، قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : أَوَّلُ الشَّامِ بَالِسُ ، وَآخِرُهُ عَرِيشُ مِصْرَ .
Salim bin Abdullah narrates from his father (Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "In the last era, a fire will emerge from Hadramaut that will gather the people together." The narrator says: We asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What do you command us to do then?" The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Stay in Sham (Greater Syria)."
(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The beginning of Sham is Balis and its end is Arish of Egypt.
