Hadith 7304

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، وَذَكَرَ ابْنُ سَلْمٍ آخَرَ مَعَهُ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِمَاسَةَ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمًا وَنَحْنُ عِنْدَهُ : " طُوبَى لِلشَّامِ " قُلَنَا : مَا بَالَهُ ؟ قَالَ : " إِنَّ مَلائِكَةَ الرَّحْمَنِ لَبَاسِطَةٌ أَجْنِحَتَهَا عَلَيْهِ " ، قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : ابْنُ شِمَاسَةَ هُوَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ شِمَاسَةَ الْمَهْرِيُّ مِنْ ثِقَاتِ أَهْلِ مِصْرَ .
Sayyiduna Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: We were present with you at that time, "Glad tidings are for Syria." The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The angels of the Most Merciful have spread their wings over it."
(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The narrator named Ibn Shamasah is Abdur Rahman bin Shamasah Mahri, and he is among the trustworthy narrators of Egypt.
