Hadith 73

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَبَّانُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيَمَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَلا قَوْلَ اللَّهِ : هُوَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلَ عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ مِنْهُ آيَاتٌ مُحْكَمَاتٌ سورة آل عمران آية 7 إِلَى آخِرِهَا ، فَقَالَ : " رَأَيْتُمُ الَّذِينَ يَتَّبِعُونَ مَا تَشَابَهَ مِنْهُ ، فَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّهُمُ الَّذِينَ عَنَى الِلَّهِ ، فَاحْذَرُوهُمْ " .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) recited the statement of Allah Almighty: "He it is Who has sent down to you the Book; in it are verses that are clear."
He recited this verse till the end, then said: "When you see those who recite the ambiguous verses, then know that these are the people Allah has referred to, so beware of them."
