Hadith 7295

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا قُرَّةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي جَمْرَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : قَدِمَ وَفْدُ عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَرْحَبًا بِالْوَفْدِ غَيْرَ خَزَايَا وَلا نَادِمِينَ " ، قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ مِنْ مُضَرَ ، وَإِنَّا لا نَصِلُ إِلَيْكَ إِلا فِي الأَشْهُرِ الْحُرُمِ ، فَحَدِّثْنَا عَمَلا مِنَ الأَجْرِ إِذَا أَخَذْنَا بِهِ ، دَخَلْنَا الْجَنَّةَ ، وَنَدْعُوا إِلَيْهِ مِنْ وَرَاءِنَا ، فَقَالَ : " آمُرُكُمْ بِأَرْبَعٍ ، وَأَنْهَاكُمْ عَنْ أَرْبَعٍ : الإِيمَانُ بِاللَّهِ " ، قَالَ : " وَهَلْ تَدْرُونَ مَا الإِيمَانُ بِاللَّهِ ؟ " ، قَالُوا : اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ ، قَالَ : " شَهَادَةُ أَنْ لا إِلَهَ إِلا اللَّهُ ، وَإِقَامُ الصَّلاةِ ، وَإِيتَاءُ الزَّكَاةِ ، وَصَوْمُ رَمَضَانَ ، وَتُعْطُوا الْخُمُسَ مِنَ الْغَنَائِمِ ، وَأَنْهَاكُمْ عَنِ النَّبِيذِ فِي الدُّبَّاءِ ، وَالنَّقِيرِ وَالْحَنْتَمِ وَالْمُزَفَّتِ " .
Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: A delegation from the tribe of Abdul Qais came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), so he said: Welcome to the delegation who come without disgrace and regret. The people said: O Messenger of Allah! Between us and you are the polytheists from the tribe of Mudar, so we can only come to you during the sacred months. Tell us about an act which, if we do it, we will enter Paradise, and we can also invite our people behind us to it. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: I command you with four things and forbid you from four things. Have faith in Allah. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: Do you know what it means to have faith in Allah? The people said: Allah and His Messenger know best. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: To testify that there is no god but Allah, to establish prayer, to give zakat, to fast in Ramadan, and to give one-fifth of the spoils of war, and I forbid you from preparing nabidh in dubba’, naqir, hantam, and muzaffat (from preparing nabidh in these or using these vessels).
