Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Sometimes three months would pass in the household of Muhammad (peace be upon him) during which they would not be able to light a fire. Their food would consist only of water and dates. There were some families of the Ansar around us who had goats in their gardens, so sometimes people from one of those families would send fresh milk from their goats to the service of the Prophet (peace be upon him), and the Prophet (peace be upon him) would drink that milk.
