أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ نَاسًا مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ قَالُوا يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ حِينَ أَفَاءَ اللَّهُ عَلَى رَسُولِهِ مِنْ أَمْوَالِ هَوَازِنَ مَا أَفَاءَ ، فَطَفِقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعْطِي رِجَالا مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ الْماِئَةَ مِنَ الإِبِلِ ، فَقَالُوا : يَغْفِرُ اللَّهُ لِرَسُولِهِ يُعْطِي قُرَيْشًا وَيَتْرُكُنَا وَسُيُوفُنَا تَقْطُرُ مِنْ دِمَائِهِمْ ، قَالَ أَنَسٌ : فَحَدَّثْتُ ذَلِكَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ قَوْلِهِمْ ، فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى الأَنْصَارِ ، فَجَمَعَهُمْ فِي قُبَّةٍ مِنْ أَدَمٍ ، فَلَمَّا اجْتَمَعُوا جَاءَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " مَا حَدِيثٌ بَلَغَنِي عَنْكُمْ ؟ " ، فَقَالَ لَهُ قَوْمٌ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ : أَمَّا ذَوُو أَسْنَانِنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، فَلَمْ يَقُولُوا شَيْئًا ، وَأَمَّا نَاسٌ مِنَّا حَدِيثَةٌ أَسْنَانُهُمْ ، فَقَالُوا : يَغْفِرُ اللَّهُ لِرَسُولِهِ يُعْطِي أُنَاسًا وَسُيُوفُنَا تَقْطُرُ مِنْ دِمَائِهِمْ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنِّي أُعْطِي رِجَالا حَدِيثِي عَهْدٍ بِالْكُفْرِ أَتَأَلَّفُهُمْ ، أَفَلا تَرْضَوْنَ أَنْ يَذْهَبَ النَّاسُ بِالأَمْوَالِ ، وَتَرْجِعُونَ إِلَى رِحَالِكُمْ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ؟ فَوَاللَّهِ لَمَا تَنْقَلِبُونَ بِهِ خَيْرٌ مِمَّا يَنْقَلِبُونَ " ، فَقَالُوا : بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَدْ رَضِينَا ، قَالَ : " فَإِنَّكُمْ سَتَجِدُونَ أَثَرَةً شَدِيدَةً ، فَاصْبِرُوا حَتَّى تَلَقَوَا اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ " ، قَالُوا : سَنَصْبِرُ .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the occasion of the Battle of Hunayn, some of the Ansar said: When Allah Almighty granted His Messenger wealth from the spoils of Hawazin, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave some people from the Quraysh one hundred camels each. The Ansar said: May Allah forgive His Messenger, he has given to the Quraysh and not to us, even though their blood is still dripping from our swords. Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I informed the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) of this, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent a message to the Ansar and gathered them in a tent made of leather. When they had all gathered, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to them and said: What is this matter that has reached me about you? Some of the Ansar replied: O Messenger of Allah! None of our elders have said this, but some of our younger people have said that may Allah forgive His Messenger, he has given gifts to some people even though their blood is still dripping from our swords. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I have given gifts to those who are closest to the time of disbelief, so that I may win their hearts. Are you not pleased that people take away wealth, and you return to your homes with the Messenger of Allah? By Allah, what you take back is better than what they take back. They said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah! We are pleased with this. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Soon you will see others given preference over you, so be patient until you meet me at the Hawd (Pond) of Kawthar in the presence of Allah and His Messenger. They said: We will be patient.
