Hadith 7277

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ قَحْطَبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الأَنْصَارِيُّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : أَتَى أُسَيْدُ بْنُ حُضَيْرٍ الأَشْهَلِيُّ النَّقِيبُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَذَكَرَ لَهُ أَهْلَ بَيْتٍ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ فِيهِمْ حَاجَةٌ ، قَالَ : وَقَدْ كَانَ قَسَمَ طَعَامًا ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تَرَكْتَنَا حَتَّى ذَهَبَ مَا فِي أَيْدِينَا ، فَإِذَا سَمِعْتَ بِشَيْءٍ قَدْ جَاءَنَا ، فَاذْكُرْ لِي أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ " ، قَالَ : فَجَاءَهُ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ طَعَامٌ مِنْ خَيْبَرَ : شَعِيرٌ وَتَمْرٌ ، قَالَ : وَجُلُّ أَهْلِ ذَلِكَ الْبَيْتِ نِسْوَةٌ ، قَالَ : فَقَسَمَ فِي النَّاسِ ، وَقَسَمَ فِي الأَنْصَارِ ، فَأَجْزَلَ ، وَقَسَمَ فِي أَهْلِ ذَلِكَ الْبَيْتِ ، فَأَجْزَلَ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ أُسَيْدُ بْنُ حُضَيْرٍ يَشْكُرُ لَهُ : جَزَاكَ اللَّهُ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ عَنَّا أَطْيَبَ الْجَزَاءِ أَوْ قَالَ : خَيْرًا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " وَأَنْتُمْ مَعْشَرَ الأَنْصَارِ فَجَزَاكُمُ اللَّهُ أَطْيَبَ الْجَزَاءِ أَوْ قَالَ : خَيْرًا مَا عَلِمْتُكُمْ ، أَعِفَّةٌ صُبُرٌ ، وَسَتَرَوْنَ بَعْدِي أَثَرَةً فِي الأَمْرِ وَالْعَيْشِ ، فَاصْبِرُوا حَتَّى تَلْقَوْنِي عَلَى الْحَوْضِ " .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Usayd bin Hudayr al-Ashhali (may Allah be pleased with him), who was the chief of his tribe, came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). He mentioned to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the needy households among the Ansar. The narrator states: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had already distributed some grain before this. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You did not mention this to us until everything we had was finished. When you hear that something has come to us, then remind me about those households. (The narrator states:) Some grain came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) from Khaybar, which included barley and dates. The narrator states: There were mostly women in that household. The narrator states: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) distributed that grain among the people. He distributed it well among the Ansar. He distributed it among the people of that household and gave them well, so Sayyiduna Usayd bin Hudayr (may Allah be pleased with him) thanked you and said: O Prophet of Allah, may Allah grant you on our behalf the purest (the narrator is unsure, perhaps these are the words:) the best reward. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O group of Ansar, may Allah grant you also the most (the narrator is unsure, perhaps these are the words:) the best reward. I know this about you: you refrain from asking and you are patient. Soon, after me, you will see preferential treatment in government and other matters of life, so be patient until you meet me at the Pond of Kawthar.
