Hadith 7275

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْكَرِيمِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْخَطَّابِيُّ بِالْبَصْرَةِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانُ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَكْتُبَ لِلأَنْصَارِ بِالْبَحْرَيْنِ ، فَقَالُوا : لا ، حَتَّى تَكْتُبَ لأَصْحَابِنَا مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّكُمْ سَتَلْقَوْنَ بَعْدِي أَثَرَةً ، فَاصْبِرُوا حَتَّى تَلْقَوْنِي عَلَى الْحَوْضِ " .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to grant the Ansar estates in Bahrain. They said: No, not unless you grant our companions from among the Quraysh something similar (we will not accept it). So the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Soon after me, you will see others being given preference over you, so be patient until you meet me at the Hawd (Pond of Kawthar).
