Hadith 7268

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السَّامِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ الْمَقَابِرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي حُمَيْدٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : قَسَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَنَائِمَ حُنَيْنٍ ، فَأَعْطَى الأَقْرَعَ بْنَ حَابِسٍ مِائَةً مِنَ الإِبِلِ ، وَعُيَيْنَةَ بْنَ بَدْرٍ مِائَةً مِنَ الإِبِلِ ، وَذَكَرَ نَفَرًا مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ ، فَقَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، تُعْطِي غَنَائِمَنَا قَوْمًا تَقْطُرُ سُيُوفُنَا مِنْ دِمَائِهِمْ ، أَوْ تَقْطُرُ دِمَاؤُهُمْ فِي سُيُوفِنَا ، فَبَلَغَهُ ذَلِكَ ، فَجَمَعَ الأَنْصَارَ ، فَقَالَ : " هَلْ فِيكُمْ غَيْرُكُمْ ؟ " ، فَقَالُوا : لا ، غَيْرَ ابْنِ أُخْتِنَا ، قَالَ : " ابْنُ أُخْتِ الْقَوْمِ مِنْهُمْ " ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " يَا مَعْشَرَ الأَنْصَارِ ، أَمَا تَرْغَبُونَ أَنْ يَذْهَبَ النَّاسُ بِالدُّنْيَا أَوْ بِالشَّاءِ وَالإِبِلِ ، وَتَذْهَبُونَ بِمُحَمَّدٍ إِلَى دِيَارِكُمْ ؟ " ، قَالُوا : بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، فَقَالَ : " وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ ، لَوْ أَخَذَ النَّاسُ وَادِيًا ، وَأَخَذَ الأَنْصَارُ شِعْبًا ، لأَخَذْتُ شِعْبَ الأَنْصَارِ ، الأَنْصَارُ كَرِشِي وَعَيْبَتِي ، وَلَوْلا الْهِجْرَةُ ، لَكُنْتُ امْرَأً مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ " .
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) distributed the spoils of war from Hunayn. He gave Aqra’ bin Habis one hundred camels, and he gave ‘Uyainah bin Badr one hundred camels. Then Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), mentioning a group of the Ansar, said: These people said, “O Messenger of Allah! You have given our spoils of war to those whose blood is still dripping from our swords.” (The narrator is unsure if these were the exact words:) “Their blood is dripping from our swords.” When this was reported to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), he gathered the Ansar and said: “Is there anyone among you besides yourselves?” The people replied: “No, except for one of our nephews.” The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “A nephew of a people is considered one of them.” Then he said: “O group of Ansar, are you not pleased that people take away worldly things—sheep and camels—while you take the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) back to your homes?” The people replied: “Yes, O Messenger of Allah!” The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, if people were to walk in one valley and the Ansar in another valley, I would choose the valley of the Ansar. The Ansar are my closest people; if there had been no migration, I would have been one of the Ansar.”
