Hadith 7254

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حِبَّانُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُوقَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ خَطَبَ بِالْجَابِيَةِ ، فَقَالَ : قَامَ فِينَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَقَامِي فِيكُمْ ، فَقَالَ : " اسْتَوْصُوا بِأَصْحَابِي خَيْرًا ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ، ثُمَّ يَفْشُو الْكَذِبُ ، حَتَّى إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَبْتَدِئُ بِالشَّهَادَةِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُسْأَلَهَا ، وَبِالْيَمِينِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُسْأَلَهَا ، فَمَنْ أَرَادَ مِنْكُمْ بُحْبُوحَةَ الْجَنَّةِ فَلْيَلْزَمِ الْجَمَاعَةَ ، فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ مَعَ الْوَاحِدِ ، وَهُوَ مِنَ الاثْنَيْنِ أَبْعَدُ ، وَلا يَخْلُوَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ بِامْرَأَةٍ ، فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ ثَالِثُهُمَا ، وَمَنْ سَرَّتْهُ حَسَنَتُهُ وَسَاءَتْهُ سَيِّئَتُهُ ، فَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) delivered a sermon at the place of Jabiyah and said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood among us just as I am standing among you. He said: Accept the exhortation to do good regarding my companions, then regarding those who come after them, then regarding those who come after them (accept the exhortation to do good). Then falsehood will spread, to the extent that a man will give testimony before he is asked for it, and will swear an oath before he is asked for it. So whoever wants to go to the middle of Paradise should not separate from the (Muslim) community, because Satan is with one person and is farther from two people. No man should ever be alone with (a non-mahram) woman, because the third among them will be Satan. And whoever finds goodness pleasing and evil displeasing, he is a believer.
