Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The hand of Allah is full; continuous spending during the night and day does not diminish it in any way. Have you not noticed that since the day He created the heavens and the earth, He has been spending, and what is in His hand has not decreased? While His other hand is the one that withholds; He grants elevation and abasement, and His Throne is upon the water." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) These narrations have been mentioned in this section in an absolute manner. Whoever does not have expertise in the science of hadith may fall into the misunderstanding that the great hadith scholars belong to the anthropomorphist sect, whereas we seek refuge with Allah from even the thought that any of the hadith scholars could have such an idea. But these narrations regarding the attributes of Allah have been transmitted in absolute terms with exemplary words, according to the common expressions of people. The nature of Allah's attributes has not been described in them. Our Lord is far above and exalted from being likened to anything from the creation, or from having the nature of any of His attributes described, for there is nothing like unto Him.
