Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) heard the recitation of Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) and said, "He has been given a melodious voice like the family of Dawud."
The narrator named Abu Salamah reports: Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said to Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) during a gathering, "O Abu Musa! Remind us of our Lord (i.e., recite the Qur'an for us)." So Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) began to recite. He was sitting in that gathering and was reciting with a melodious voice.
