Hadith 7168

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الآيَةُ : يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لا تَرْفَعُوا أَصْوَاتَكُمُ فَوْقَ صَوْتِ صَوْتِ النَّبِيِّ ، وَلا تَجْهَرُوا لَهُ بِالْقَوْلِ ، قَعَدَ ثَابِتُ بْنُ قَيْسِ بْنِ شَمَّاسٍ فِي بَيْتِهِ ، وَقَالَ : أَنَا الَّذِي كُنْتُ أَرْفَعُ صَوْتِي ، وَأَجْهَرُ لَهُ بِالْقَوْلِ ، وَأَنَا مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ ، فَفَقَدَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَخْبَرُوهُ ، فَقَالَ : " بَلْ هُوَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ " ، قَالَ أَنَسٌ : فَكُنَّا نَرَاهُ يَمْشِي بَيْنَ أَظْهُرِنَا ، وَنَحْنُ نَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْيَمَامَةِ وَكَانَ ذَلِكَ الانْكِشَافُ ، لَبِسَ ثِيَابَهُ ، وَتَحَنَّطَ وَتَقَدَّمَ ، فَقَاتَلَ حَتَّى قُتِلَ .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When this verse was revealed: "O you who believe! Do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet, nor speak loudly to him as you speak loudly to one another," then Sayyiduna Thabit bin Qais bin Shammas (may Allah be pleased with him) sat in his house and said: I am the person who raises his voice. I speak loudly in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so I have become one of the people of Hell. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) found him absent (and inquired about him), so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was informed about his situation. He said: (No), rather he is among the people of Paradise. Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When we used to see him walking among us, we knew that he was a person of Paradise, but when the Battle of Yamama came, then the situation became clear. He put on his clothes, applied perfume, advanced, participated in the battle, and was martyred.
