Hadith 7157

أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ مُجَاشِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي جَنَازَةِ أَبِي الدَّحْدَاحِ ، فَلَمَّا صَلَّى عَلَيْهَا أُتِيَ بِفَرَسٍ فَرَكِبَهُ وَنَحْنُ نَسْعَى خَلْفَهُ ، فَقَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَمْ مِنْ عِذْقٍ مُدَلًّى لأَبِي الدَّحْدَاحِ فِي الْجَنَّةِ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We attended the funeral of Abu Dahdah with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). When he had performed the funeral prayer, a horse was brought and he mounted it. We followed behind him quickly. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: How many clusters of dates have been presented for Abu Dahdah in Paradise!
