Hadith 7152

أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ وَهْبِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ ، عَنْ أَخِيهِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : " مَا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَكْثَرَ حَدِيثًا مِنِّي إِلا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ يَكْتُبُ ، وَكُنْتُ لا أَكْتُبُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: None among the companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) knows more hadiths than I do. Only the case of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) is different because he used to write (the hadiths) down, and I did not write.
