Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both of them) narrates: We were on a journey with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He said: Will you sell your camel to me for one dinar? When we reach Madinah, I (inshaAllah, will pay its price). May Allah forgive you. Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I said, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), this is your camel. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Will you sell it to me (on this condition) that when we reach Madinah, if Allah wills, I will pay you two dinars. Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I said, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), this is your camel. After that, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) kept repeating this until he fixed the price at 20 dinars, and every time he said, May Allah forgive you. When we reached Madinah and I brought the camel to your service, I said, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), this is your camel. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: O Bilal, give him 20 dinars from the spoils of war, and (he said to me) take your camel back to your home.
