Hadith 714

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ بَحْرٍ الْبَزَّارُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْعَدَنِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا رَأَى أَحَدُكُمْ مَنْ فَوْقَهُ فِي الْمَالِ وَالْحَسَبِ ، فَلْيَنْظُرْ إِلَى مَنْ هُوَ دُونَهُ فِي الْمَالِ وَالْحَسَبِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a person looks at someone above him in wealth and lineage, he should also look at someone below him in wealth and lineage."
