Hadith 713

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لا تَنْظُرُوا إِلَى مَنْ هُوَ فَوْقَكُمْ ، وَانْظُرُوا إِلَى مَنْ هُوَ أَسْفَلُ مِنْكُمْ ، فَإِنَّهُ أَجْدَرُ أَنْ لا تَرُدُّوا نِعْمَةَ اللَّهِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Do not look at those who are above you, rather look at those who are below you, for this is more appropriate so that you do not deny the blessings of Allah (i.e., you do not consider them insignificant)."
