Hadith 7128

أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، قَالَ : ذَكَرُوا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ عِنْدَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، فَقَالَ : ذَاكَ رَجُلٌ لا أَزَالُ أُحِبُّهُ بَعْدَمَا سَمِعْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " اسْتَقْرِئُوا الْقُرْآنَ مِنْ أَرْبَعَةٍ : مِنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، وَسَالِمٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ ، وَأُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ ، وَمُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ " .
Masruq reports: The people mentioned Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) in the presence of Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him), so he said: He is a person whom I have continuously loved since the time I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Learn the recitation of the Qur'an from four people: Ibn Mas'ud, Salim the freed slave of Abu Hudhaifah, Ubayy bin Ka'b, and Mu'adh bin Jabal."
