Hadith 7117

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ مُكْرَمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ بُكَيْرٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : لَمَّا وُلِدَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ أَتَيْتُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَتَفَلَ فِي فِيهِ ، فَكَانَ أَوَّلَ شَيْءٍ دَخَلَ جَوْفَهُ ، وَقَالَ : " هُوَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، وَأَنْتِ أُمُّ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ " ، فَمَا زِلْتُ أُكَنَّى بِهَا وَمَا وَلَدْتُ قَطُّ .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When Abdullah bin Zubair was born, I took him to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) put his blessed saliva in his mouth; this was the first thing that entered his mouth. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: This is Abdullah, and you are Umm Abdullah. After that, this remained my title continuously, even though I had no children.
