Hadith 7109

Lady Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: My fellow women (i.e., the other noble wives) discussed with me that I should speak to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and ask him to instruct the people that wherever the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) may be, they should present gifts to him, because people only wait for the specific day of Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) with special care to present gifts, whereas we also love goodness just as Aisha loves it. So the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) did not give me any answer. My fellow women came to me and I told them: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) did not give me any answer. So those women said: By Allah, we will not let the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) remain like this (i.e., we will surely speak to him about this). Lady Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Then I spoke to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) about this matter two or perhaps three times, and each time the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) remained silent. Then he said: O Umm Salamah! Do not trouble me regarding Aisha. By Allah, among my wives, revelation does not descend upon me in the house of any woman except Aisha. Lady Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I said: I seek refuge with Allah from ever causing you any harm regarding Aisha (i.e., from troubling you).
