Hadith 7106

أَخْبَرَنَا ابن خزيمة ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ السَّعْدِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ ؟ قَالَ : " عَائِشَةُ " ، فَقُلْتُ : إِنِّي لَسْتُ أَعْنِي النِّسَاءَ إِنَّمَا أَعْنَى الرِّجَالَ ، فَقَالَ : " أَبُو بَكْرٍ " ، أَوْ قَالَ : " أَبُوهَا " .
Sayyiduna Amr bin Al-Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), who is the most beloved to you?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Aisha." I said, "I do not mean from among your wives; I mean from among the men." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "Abu Bakr." (The narrator is in doubt, perhaps these are the words:) The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Her father."
