Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) married me, I was six years old, and when I went to live with him, I was nine years old. When the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) arrived in Madinah Munawwarah, I developed a fever as a result of which my hair fell out. Lady Umm Ruman (may Allah be pleased with her) came to me while I was playing with my toys, and my friends were with me. Lady Umm Ruman (may Allah be pleased with her) called me loudly, and I came to her, not knowing what she wanted. She took my hand and made me stand at the door. I said, "Wait, wait," as if I was out of breath. Then she took me inside the house, where some Ansari women were present. They said, "With goodness and blessing, and with coming goodness (may your marriage be blessed)." Then Lady Umm Ruman (may Allah be pleased with her) entrusted me to those women. They washed my head and prepared me. Then, at the time of forenoon (duha), the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) came, and those women handed me over to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
