Hadith 7087

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، حَدَّثَنِي حُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ أبيه ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " سَمِعَ خَشْخَشَةً أَمَامَهُ ، فَقَالَ : مَنْ هَذَا ؟ قَالُوا : بِلالٌ ، فَأَخْبَرَهُ وَقَالَ : بِمَ سَبَقْتَنِي إِِلَى الْجَنَّةِ ؟ فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَا أَحْدَثْتُ إِِلا تَوَضَّأْتُ ، وَلا تَوَضَّأْتُ إِِلا رَأَيْتُ أَنَّ لِلَّهِ عَلَيَّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ أُصَلِّيهُمَا ، قَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : بِهَا " .
Abdullah bin Buraidah narrates from his father that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) heard the sound of someone's footsteps ahead of him (in a dream), so he inquired: Who is this? The angels replied: It is Bilal. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) informed Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) about this and said: For what reason have you preceded me in Paradise? He replied: O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), whenever I become impure, I perform ablution, and whenever I perform ablution, I feel that I should offer two units of prayer (Tahiyyat al-Wudu) for the sake of Allah Almighty. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: It must be because of this.
