Hadith 7082

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا النَّضْرُ ، وَرَوْحٌ ، وَأَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفُ بْنُ أَبِي جَمِيلَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ ، أَنَّ صُهَيْبًا حِينَ أَرَادَ الْهِجْرَةَ إِِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ ، قَالَ لَهُ كُفَّارُ قُرَيْشٍ : أَتَيْتَنَا صُعْلُوكًا ، فَكَثُرَ مَالُكَ عِنْدَنَا ، وَبَلَغْتَ مَا بَلَغْتَ ، ثُمَّ تُرِيدُ أَنْ تَخْرُجَ بِنَفْسِكَ وَمَالِكَ ، وَاللَّهِ لا يَكُونُ ذَلِكَ ، فَقَالَ لَهُمْ : " أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِِنْ أَعْطَيْتُكُمْ مَالِي ، أَتُخَلُّونَ سَبِيلِي ؟ فَقَالُوا : نَعَمْ ، فَقَالَ : أُشْهِدُكُمْ أَنِّي قَدْ جَعَلْتُ لَهُمْ مَالِي ، فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : رَبِحَ صُهَيْبٌ ، رَبِحَ صُهَيْبٌ " .
Abu Uthman Nahdi narrates: Sayyiduna Suhaib (may Allah be pleased with him) intended to migrate towards Madinah Munawwarah, so the disbelievers of Quraysh said to him: You came to us in a state of destitution, your wealth increased with us, and you reached the status that you have now. Now you want to leave with your life and wealth? By Allah, this will not happen. Sayyiduna Suhaib (may Allah be pleased with him) said to them: What do you think, if I give you my wealth, will you let me go? They said: Yes. So Sayyiduna Suhaib (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I make you witnesses that I have given you my wealth. When this news reached the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Suhaib has profited, Suhaib has profited.
