Hadith 7059

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَلادٍ الْبَاهِلِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى الْقَطَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : أَمَّرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُسَامَةَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ عَلَى قَوْمٍ ، فَطَعَنُوا فِي إِِمَارَتِهِ ، فَقَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِِنْ تَطْعَنُوا فِي إِِمَارَتِهِ ، فَقَدْ طَعَنْتُمْ فِي إِِمَارَةِ أَبِيهِ مِنْ قَبْلِهِ ، وَايْمُ اللَّهِ ، لَقَدْ كَانَ خَلِيقًا لِلإِِمَارَةِ ، وَإِِنْ كَانَ لَمِنْ أَحَبِّ النَّاسِ إِِلَيَّ ، وَإِِنَّ هَذَا لَمِنْ أَحَبِّ النَّاسِ إِِلَيَّ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed Sayyiduna Usama bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with them both) as the leader of some people. Those people expressed confusion about his leadership, so the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If you are expressing confusion about his leadership, then before this you also expressed confusion about his father's leadership. By Allah, he was worthy of leadership and was the most beloved to me, and after him, this one is the most beloved to me.
