Hadith 7038

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ سَوَاءٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَمِّي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَوَاءٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، " أَنَّ أُكَيْدِرَ دُومَةَ أَهْدَى إِِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جُبَّةَ سُنْدُسٍ ، فَلَبِسَهَا وَذَلِكَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُحَرَّمَ الْحَرِيرُ " ، فَتَعَجَّبَ النَّاسُ مِنْ حُسْنِهَا ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَمَنَادِيلُ سَعْدِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ أَحْسَنُ مِنْهَا فِي الْجَنَّةِ " .
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Ukaydir, the ruler of Duma, sent a cloak made of silk to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) wore it; this was before silk was declared unlawful. People were amazed at its beauty. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: The handkerchiefs of Sa’d bin Mu’adh in Paradise are more beautiful than this.
