أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ صِلَةَ بْنِ زُفَرَ ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ لأَهْلِ نَجْرَانَ : " لأَبْعَثَنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ أَمِينًَا حَقَّ أَمِينٍ ، فَاسْتَشْرَفَ لَهَا النَّاسُ ، فَبَعَثَ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ بْنَ الْجَرَّاحِ " .
Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the people of Najran: "I will send to you a trustworthy person, who is truly trustworthy." The people eagerly awaited who it would be, so the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Sayyiduna Abu Ubaydah bin al-Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him).
