Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: One night, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed awake until late at night. Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) was present with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). She narrates: I said, "O Messenger of Allah! What has happened to you?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I wish that some righteous person from among my companions would guard me tonight." Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: While we were in this state, I heard the sound of a weapon. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Who is it?" He replied: "Sa'd bin Malik." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Why have you come?" He said: "O Messenger of Allah! I have come to guard you." Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) snoring during his sleep (that is, then he slept peacefully).
