Hadith 6983

أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الأَنْصَارِيِّ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَعِدَ حِرَاءَ وَمَعَهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ وَعُثْمَانُ وَعَلِيٌّ وَطَلْحَةُ وَالزُّبَيْرُ ، فَتَحَرَّكَ بِهِمُ الْجَبَلُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اسْكُنْ حِرَاءُ ، فَإِِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ نَبِيٌّ أَوْ صِدِّيقٌ أَوْ شَهِيدٌ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) climbed the (mountain of) Hira. Along with him were Sayyiduna Abu Bakr, Sayyiduna Umar, Sayyiduna Uthman, Sayyiduna Ali, Sayyiduna Talhah, and Sayyiduna Zubair (may Allah be pleased with them). In the presence of these individuals, the mountain began to shake, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “O Hira, remain still, for upon you is a Prophet, a Siddiq, and a martyr.”
