Hadith 6928

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِِسْحَاقَ الثَّقَفِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحِيمِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ صَالِحٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَا عَلِيُّ ، أَلا أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ إِِذَا قُلْتَهُنَّ غُفِرَ لَكَ ، مَعَ أَنَّهُ مَغْفُورٌ لَكَ : لا إِِلَهَ إِِلا اللَّهُ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ ، لا إِِلَهَ إِِلا اللَّهُ الْحَلِيمُ الْكَرِيمُ ، سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ رَبِّ السَّمَاوَاتِ السَّبْعِ وَرَبِّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ " .
Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: O Ali! Shall I not teach you such words that when you recite them, you will be forgiven, even though forgiveness has already been decreed for you? (Those words are:) "There is no deity except Allah, Who is Most High and Most Great. There is no deity except Allah, Who is Forbearing and Clement. Allah is free from all defects, Who is the Lord of the seven heavens and the Mighty Throne. And all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds."
