Hadith 6913

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ الْكَلاعِيُّ بِحِمْصَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُصَفَّى ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، عَنِ الزُّبَيْدِيِّ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبَانَ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُحَدِّثُ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِِنِّي أُرِيتُ اللَّيْلَةَ رَجُلٌ صَالِحٌ : أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ نِيطَ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَنِيطَ عُمَرُ بِأَبِي بَكْرٍ ، وَنِيطَ عُثْمَانُ بِعُمَرَ " ، قَالَ جَابِرٌ : فَلَمَّا قُمْنَا مِنْ عِنْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قُلْنَا : أَمَّا الرَّجُلُ الصَّالِحُ فَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَأَمَّا مَا ذَكَرَ مِنْ نَوْطِ بَعْضِهِمْ بِبَعْضٍ ، فَهُمْ وُلاةُ هَذَا الأَمْرِ الَّذِي بَعَثَ اللَّهُ بِهِ نَبِيَّهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Last night (in a dream) a righteous man was shown to me, that Abu Bakr is with the Messenger of Allah, and Umar is with Abu Bakr, and Uthman is with Umar." Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When we got up from the presence of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), we said: The righteous man must be the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), but as for the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioning that each of them was with the other, this must be a matter of leadership with which Allah Almighty sent His Prophet.
