Hadith 6902

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ الْمُرَادِيِّ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ هَرِمٍ ، عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " إِِنِّي لا أَرَى بَقَائِي فِيْكُمْ إِِلا قَلِيلا ، فَاقْتَدُوا بِالَّذِينَ مِنْ بَعْدِي وَأَشَارَ إِِلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ ، وَاهْتَدُوا بِهَدْيِ عَمَّارٍ ، وَمَا حَدَّثَكُمُ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ، فَاقْبَلُوهُ " .
Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We were present with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He (peace be upon him) said: I think that my presence among you will remain for only a short time now, so after me, follow these people. The Prophet (peace be upon him) pointed towards Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: And act upon the guidance of Ammar, and accept whatever Abdullah bin Mas'ud tells you.
