Hadith 6900

أَخْبَرَنَا شَبَابُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ بِوَاسِطَ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدٌ ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَهُ عَلَى جَيْشِ ذَاتِ السَّلاسِلِ ، قَالَ : فَأَتَيْتُهُ ، فَقُلْتُ : " أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَحَبُّ إِِلَيْكَ ؟ قَالَ : عَائِشَةُ ، قُلْتُ : مِنَ الرِّجَالِ ؟ قَالَ : أَبُوهَا ، قُلْتُ : ثُمَّ مَنْ ؟ قَالَ : ثُمَّ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ " .
Sayyiduna Amr bin Al-Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) sent him for the battle of "Dhat-us-Salasil." Sayyiduna Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked: Who is the most beloved to you among the people? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Aisha. I asked: Among the men, who is it? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Her father. I asked: Then who? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Then Umar bin Khattab.
