Hadith 686

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمِقْدَامِ الْعِجْلِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبِي ، يَقُولُ : حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ خُلَيْدٍ الْعَصَرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَا طَلَعَتْ شَمْسٌ قَطُّ إِلا وَبِجَنْبَتَيْهَا مَلَكَانِ يُنَادِيَانِ : اللَّهُمَّ مَنْ أَنْفَقَ فَأَعْقِبْهُ خَلَفًا ، وَمَنْ أَمْسَكَ فَأَعْقِبْهُ تَلَفًا " .
Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Whenever the sun rises, there are two angels on its sides who make this announcement: 'O Allah! Grant more in return to the one who spends (in Your way), and cause loss to the one who does not spend.'"
